Food and Mood – Changing Your Diet

FACT: Your body has a second brain!! 95% of your neurotransmitters are produced in your second brain – the gut. Changing your diet to include more fruits and vegetables can actually increase your mental wellness.  All

Have you ever heard the term we are what we eat?  Well, if you’re consuming lots of carbohydrates, think about what effects that has on your mental wellness. It can make you sluggish, tired, heavy, sleepy – the list goes on and on.

People who have digestive issues may also experience anxiety and depression due to their poor diets.  If our stomach holds 95% of our neurotransmitters, it would make sense to watch what we consume in order to become happier healthier people.

Where there is mental illness, there are digestive problems.  Choose healthy foods over foods loaded with sugar and carbohydrates.  If you are eating healthy, you’re on the path to creating a happier YOU!
